American Airlines Considers Removing Toilets

Screen Shot 2018-06-04 at 11.19.12 AM.pngAfter announcing their plans to shrink airplane bathrooms from 36 inches wide, to a more modern and sleek size of 24 inches wide, American Airlines revealed that they will begin preparations to remove toilets from Airplanes altogether.

“With gas prices going up, and the way people are eating now, I think it will be beneficial in the long run to remove these pesky accessories that only the new generations seem to care about” said American Airlines representative Andrew Richards regarding the toilet removal.

American Airlines is preparing its future customers for this change by e-mailing passengers after they purchase a ticket. In the e-mail the airlines provides a guide to navigating the skies with bowel issues. The American Airlines guide “Master Your Bowels” suggests avoiding water and other liquids, or keeping them to sizes of 2.5 ounces, to limit the need to use the bathroom. They also suggest planning ahead, and using the many excellent toilets the airports provide, before stepping on board.

For those with extreme issues like IBS, American Airlines suggests finding different modes of travel, or make investments in personal products like Depends. When asked for further explanation American Airlines representative Andrew Richards explained “wearing a diaper might help the flight experience, this way the customer can enjoy added padding to their seat, which they will need to supply as well, because we’re probably removing those soon too.”
